On my first sailing, the Euphoria Lounge was a great open space with plenty of seating and a full bar; however, it was often empty throughout the day. On my second cruise, live music was frequently performed in the lounge and was often accompanied by some dancing.
This is a great perk that can be enjoyed with Margaritaville at Sea, especially for those who aren't sure if they'll enjoy cruising or not. Additionally, if you are someone who wishes to book a spa treatment, I highly recommend making an appointment early on during the first day of the cruise. The tropical motifs scattered throughout the room immerse guests in the Caribbean atmosphere that is present throughout the entire Paradise ship.
The entertainment lineup includes two new scripted live production shows, along with two theme nights, poolside activities and music. The big difference is the Margaritaville branded dining options that could be recognizable to any fan, including Prime Steak and Seafood and Frank and Lola's Pizzeria. The ship will also have the classic leisure and entertainment options, like a casino, a theater for entertainment, a spa, a gym, pools, and shopping options.
That being said, on a cruise this short, where you're in port for one of the two days, you're not spending much time in your room anyway. Still, the ship is compact compared to a modern-day megaship, and there's certainly enough onboard to keep you occupied. In fact, we found the two-day trip somewhat chaotic; with such limited time, passengers are packing in as much as they can, leaning to a fast-paced, occasionally frenzied, vibe. For newbies looking to try a cruise vacation or frequent sailors searching for a quick getaway, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise provides a good-enough experience that might very well get you hooked on Mother Ocean.
The ship will homeport in Tampa, Florida and offer four to seven night cruises to the Caribbean. A standout all-new venue is the three-story Landshark Bar which will take center stage on the pool deck. It will have two decks of shaded and seated bar areas topped by The Lookout, a terrace with 360-degree outdoor views. While closed-loop cruises, where you embark and disembark in the U.S., allow you to sail with a birth certificate instead of a passport, we recommend the latter. A lot of people on this cruise only had birth certificates, and so were subject to longer lines at the terminal, both coming and going. If you book a package through the ship, transfers from the port in Freeport to the resort and back again are included in your fare. If you choose this option, note that you'll have to have a passport, and not just a birth certificate.
